The number of outs needed to complete the BBM game determines whether reserve-type performances are called for (like pinch-hitting) or starting-type performances are drawn. If the reserve player happens to have a live performance that day that matches what BBM needs it will be used. If it doesn't have a live performance that matches what is needed it will look to the stat pool.
