How do I propose a trade?

From your Team page select Trade Players and it will produce a screen where you can review any trade proposals made to your team, or propose a trade to another team.

When you click on the Propose a Trade button, this will give you a list of your roster, including salaries.  You will then be able to choose a potential trading partner from a drop down menu.  Choose the potential partner, and that team's roster becomes visible.  Now, all you simply have to do is check the boxes next to the players you wish to send to that team, and check the boxes next to the players you wish to receive from that team.  There is also a choice of 'releasing' players from YOUR team (more on this later, see 'How many players may I trade,' below), and a box for inputting how much cash one team would be including in the deal. The cash comes from that team's (whoever is offering the cash) remaining payroll (more on that later as well).

Now, when you've chosen all the players, marked which, if any, players will be released, and determined how much (if any) money is included in the deal, you can submit the trade by pressing the Submit Trade button.  Your trading partner will then have a message on his or her team's BBM homepage notifying them that there is trade being proposed to them.  They will not see this message until they log in, however, so it might be some time before you hear whether or not they accepted it.

How a trade is processed depends on your League Trade Review rule:

  • If you have Trade Review in effect, then any agreed-to trade will take 2 days to clear. During the time if 3 or more teams object to the trade, it will be reviewed by the Commissioner. If less than 3 teams object, it will be processed on the 2nd night after the trade is entered.
  • If you do NOT have Trade Review in effect in your league, then your trade becomes immediate once both teams enter the same trade (or accept a proposed one.) You can see the changes to your roster immediately.
