You spent hours reviewing and revising your draft lists. But drafting is only the beginning of Baseball Manager. You might decide that the third catcher and sixth starting pitcher just aren't the caliber of player for your team. Maybe you're in the middle of a pennant race and want to add the latest callup from your favorite team. Just like in the Big Leagues, there are free agents who would love to play for your team. Many BBMers (even if they're not named George Steinbrenner J ) will sign and release players all season long, so be sure to manage your payroll wisely for the entire season!
Note that the last day to submit a FA claim is the day you see the results for Game 160. You can make a claim on this day (but it has to be for a player who has been in the pool for at least three days.) In other words, even though you could submit a claim for a player released the day before, the claim will not process and you won't get the player.
