Can my starters also be relievers (they were originally in the RP draft list, but they haven't actually pitched in relief this season)?

This is a very common question among those new to BBM.  The short answer to this question is 'no.'  BBM tries very hard to mirror 'real life' in the way that the game works, and this applies to how players may appear in the game.  Thus, no player can start at a position for which they have not started in real MLB.  So, even though DH Edgar Martinez used to be a 3B, and he may fill in if needed there, he may not appear as a starting 3B in your BBM lineup UNLESS he has started a game there in the real major leagues.  He may also ONLY appear as a 3B the number of times that he has started at that position in the big leagues.  It does not matter where a player appeared in the draft lists at the beginning of the season.  The only determining factor for where a player can start is where they've started in real MLB.  The same is true for pitchers.  Even though a career reliever may show up in the RP draft, and you draft him expecting that he'll close out games, perhaps the big league club makes a last minute decision to use him as a starter, and he never relieves in the upcoming season.  That means you can only put him into your starting rotation.  Without any real life relief stats, that pitcher can NEVER appear as a reliever for your BBM team.

Bottom line is that a pitcher can only be used in the way that he has been used in the real game.  It is also true that he can only be used the same amount of TIMES that he has appeared that way in true baseball.  So, if John Smoltz makes 2 spot starts during the season, then you would be able to use him as a starting pitcher twice.  He is only eligible to start BBM games in that capacity equal to the number of games he has started in MLB.  If a reliever never starts in MLB, you can never use him as a starter.  If a reliever makes 3 spot starts, you can use him as a starter 3 times in BBM (and you will get the stats that he produced for those three starts).
